The Pulmac Master Screen Contaminant Classifier provides our customers with a flexible tool to determine contaminant levels in pulp samples drawn from any process location, at any time.

Based on size, contaminants can be separated quickly, reliably, and repeatably from good fiber. Master Screen results are key to a mill's optimization strategy for controlling shives, dirt and stickies. By keeping a watchful eye on shive levels at any process location, stable refiner and screening room operations can be maintained.
Finally it offers a reliable means to back-up and calibrate on-line fibre classifiers.

The Pulmac Z-Span Tester

The Pulmac Z-Span Tester generates key information regarding changing fiber strength throughout all pulping processes. Our zero-span testing system will monitor fiber degradation from the digester, through the bleach plant, and across refiners.

Z-Span data is a pivotal tool in optimizing these processes as well as in determining optimal pulp blends for the furnish. Z-Span results are extremely sensitive to changes in average individual fibre strength and length, as well as in the average bonding force that cements individual fibers into paper. These numbers largely determine handsheet tear and tensile measurements and so provide a more precise indicator of pulp strength and a more powerful tool to maintain optimized pulping operations.
