Proven Energy Savings to 20%, Recognizes mixed species of wood
INTRODUCTION: Size distribution of furnish is DESCRIPTION: A QualScan®II system consists of a Sampling Handling Enclosure with a high resolution camera, a specially configured computer, and application programs with many features. The monitor and printer are supplied by the user. For an on-line application a sampling system and actuator are required. A test is started automatically or by one or more strokes on the keyboard; then the computer controls the test through printing the results. This takes 2-5 minutes. INSTALLATION: The Sample Handling Enclosure can be mounted almost anywhere. Required are 120-240 VAC power, 4-6 bar, clear, bubble-free water, and a 1m minimum elevation gravity drop for draining. Up to 5 days on-site for startup and training is included in the purchase price. With good preparation startup can be as short as one hour. A TEST: Prior to running a test, a user-set Bin Configuration is established for spreadsheet distribution. This can simulate screen sizes. Also, User Strings are updated to record conditions at the time of sampling.
Size distribution of tests are displayed by bar graphs. Comparisons up to 10 tests may be shown at one time. All tests can be reprocessed using different configurations and filter settings. If desired, several tests can be combined.
MAINTENANCE: Resin, wax, and wood resins can build up on the flow cell cover glass. Removal, cleaning, and replacement takes less than 5 minutes. SUPPORT: Pulmac Inc has established a sales and service support network that extends around the globe. Please consult the Agent Network Drop Down list on the top of this page for the agent nearest you.. BENEFITS: Rapid and accurate measurements of size distribution for process optimization and control and quality assurance. Cost reductions have been achieved of up to 20% of refining energy. REFERENCES: Contact your Pulmac agent for a user list.. NOTE: Special purchase (financing) arrangements available. These include rentals and time payments. Also available are one-week or two-week demonstrations on-site.

extremely important in the manufacture of composite panels for minimum energy input, for wood species changes and for uniform appearance. Frequent testing verifies sizes to help optimize production and product uniformity. The QualScan®II measures fibers and other objects for rapid, accurate information to an operator. A "shot" is taken of the flowing dispersion 10 times a second. Length and area of each individual object is measured.
